Kirsten Learmonth RVN
Kirsten joined our team in 2016, and qualified in 2021 with a level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from North Highland College.
Coming from a beef and sheep farm and being brought up with horses, Kirsten has a keen interest in farm and equine work. With the Veterinary Nurse's role developing she is hopeful that there will be more opportunities to specialise in these areas. Kirsten also has a strong interest in small animal patient care, especially older & arthritic patients. She has done additional physotherapy training and able constructs personalised exercise and mobility plans for these patients & physio exercises for animals post and pre-orthopedic surgery. Along with this Kirsten enjoys diagnostic imaging and emergency critical care.
Kirsten also helps keep Flett and Carmichaels social media and website up-to-date, you may notice her dog Roxy appearing on several posts!
Outside work Kirsten, when not busy on the farm she enjoys exploring Orkneys coastline with her 2 dogs, either by foot or paddle board and sometimes swimming.
Kirsten says that working alongside a hard working, knowledgeable team is hugely beneficial and enjoys the constant changes that comes with working in a busy mixed practice. No two days are the same.
